An Urban Oasis Emerges
The Hyde Park project was a complete overhaul for this Hyde Park family property.
The front, back and side yards were all designed to maximize the limited space, including the addition of a paver driveway to the front of the lot to increase their parking space and custom steel retaining walls for the xeric front landscape.
Lacking shade in the over-turfed backyard and without a cohesive layout, the design incorporated a welded steel pergola over a custom outdoor kitchen and deck for entertainment. Bistro lighting was added to brighten the space, and the majority of the turf was removed to create a relaxing space for cornhole or a glass of wine around the firepit. Custom fencing was added for privacy before the finishing touches of vegetable beds and privacy plantings.
